Rare Roses Silk Scarf Collection

The Rare Roses Scarf Collection by artist Nicole Shannon is a heartfelt tribute to the individuality and inherent worth in all of us. Inspired by her son, Quinn, who has a rare genetic condition, Nicole created this series to convey that everyone is uniquely beautiful and deserving of love. 

Roses serve as the central symbol in this collection due to their universal appreciation and the natural genetic variations that make each bloom distinct. Nicole's fascination with these unique roses led her to consult botanists to deepen her understanding of their rare characteristics. 

The series began as a personal form of art therapy during her son's hospital stays and evolved into twelve paintings, each celebrating the idea that beauty and value are inherent in all of us, regardless of our differences. The original series sold out quickly and now resides in prominent institutions, including Clemson University's Center for Human Genetics, the University of Chicago's Department of Human Genetics, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
