The Worlds We Create is a conceptual portrait series in which figures are accompanied by expansive cosmos imagery representing the “worlds” constructed within the mind. The work examines how thoughts, beliefs, and internal narratives shape personal reality, highlighting both the visionary potential of the human imagination and its capacity to distort, limit, or liberate. The series invites viewers to consider how the realities they inhabit are, in part, self-authored.

Rare Roses is a paintings series based on real roses with genetic abnormalities. This series was created in response to Nicole’s experience raising a child with a rare genetic condition. Each rose embodies the truth that value, beauty, and dignity are not diminished by difference. The series challenges culturally inherited ideas about “normalcy” and invites viewers to reconsider the assumptions they hold about identity, variation, and human worth.
